iShares Russell Mid-Cap Value ETF (IWS) is an exchange-traded fund designed to track the performance of mid-capitalization value stocks in the U.S. equity market, as defined by the Russell Index methodology. The fund maintains a disciplined investment approach by allocating at least 80% of its assets to the component securities of its benchmark index and investments with substantially identical economic characteristics. The remaining up to 20% of assets may be deployed in derivative instruments such as futures, options, and swap contracts, as well as cash equivalents, to optimize portfolio management and liquidity.
