The iShares S&P 500 Index Fund Investor A Shares seeks to deliver investment results that track the total return performance of the Standard & Poor's 500 Index, which represents publicly-traded common stocks in the aggregate. As a feeder fund, it invests substantially all of its assets in the Master Portfolio of MIP, maintaining the same investment objective and strategies. At least 90% of the fund's assets are allocated to securities that comprise the S&P 500 Index, with each stock's weighting in the fund approximately matching its representation in the underlying index.
