Celanese Corporation is a technology and specialty materials company founded in 1918 and headquartered in Irving, Texas. The company manufactures and markets high-performance engineered polymers and chemical products globally through three primary segments: Engineered Materials, Acetate Tow, and Acetyl Chain. Its Engineered Materials segment produces specialty polymers for automotive, medical, industrial, and consumer electronics applications, along with food additives and protection ingredients. The Acetate Tow segment supplies acetate products for filter manufacturing, while the Acetyl Chain segment produces acetyl-based chemicals—including acetic acid, vinyl acetate monomers, and various esters—used as raw materials in paints, coatings, adhesives, pharmaceuticals, and other industrial applications.
